Polokwane Hub | Limpopo Province

Thuto Trust, in collaboration with the Department of Basic Education (DBE) Rural Education Directorate and the Limpopo Department of Education (LDoE), is implementing an innovative Hub for Pre-Service Teacher Internship in Limpopo Province. This initiative strengthens teacher education through the Extended Student Teacher Internship (ESTI) model, which complements the UNISA B.Ed. Degree (Foundation and Intermediate Phases) with full-time, school-based training in rural primary schools.

As the Implementing Partner, Thuto Trust provides daily mentorship, training, and supervision for in-service teachers and student interns throughout their academic journey. The Internship Hub will support up to 1 080 in-service teachers and student interns from across Limpopo, with a strong focus on practical training in Inclusive Education.

The Trust is seeking to appoint a Hub Administrator who will support programme operations, manage administrative functions, coordinate activities, and ensure the smooth execution of programme initiatives at the Polokwane Hub.

A.  Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily administrative operations and resolve issues as they arise to ensure seamless programme execution.
  • Develop and maintain timelines, support resource planning, and contribute to programme strategy implementation.
  • Coordinate meetings and programme events, including agenda preparation, scheduling, and logistics.
  • Manage diaries, schedule meetings, and oversee efficient resource allocation.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and outreach activities to promote programme initiatives.
  • Collect, analyse, and report on programme data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and achievements to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with programme policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and resolve programme issues proactively to maintain optimal performance.
  • Provide administrative support to programme staff and ensure they have the resources they need to succeed.
  • Maintain accurate records of in-service teachers and student interns for compliance, monitoring, and financial reporting.

B.  Minimum Requirements

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Administration, Office Management, Education, or a related field.
  • Previous administrative experience, preferably within an education environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with strong Excel skills.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and forecasting.
  • Tech-savvy, with confidence in using AI tools and a sound understanding of social media platforms.
